Matching Gifts
Imagine turning your $50 contribution into $100 to support our educational programs. This might be possible if your employer has a matching gifts program.
And for you retirees ‐ don't tune out ‐ many programs support matching gifts for retirees' contributions as well.
Click here for a list of larger corporations with charitable matching gift programs. If your employer is not on the list, check with your Human Resources department to see if there is such a program. If so, it's simple to leverage your contribution: just include the matching gifts form you receive from your HR department with your next gift. We'll take care of the rest of the paperwork.
Your support of the Go For Broke National Education Center puts you at the center of our mission of preserving and perpetuating the legacy of the Japanese American soldiers of World War II whose courage and sacrifice played a role in shaping our understanding of equality and justice.
Over the past 22 years we have made great strides in preserving their place in history:
- We constructed the Go For Broke Monument in downtown Los Angeles, which includes the names of 16,000 Japanese American soldiers of World War II who served in the European and Pacific Theaters. Each year, the monument welcomes thousands of visitors who are interested in learning the Nisei soldier story;
- We have educated over 3,000 teachers and 100,000 students nationwide;
- We video-recorded the oral histories of over 1,150 Nisei veterans for our "Hanashi" (to speak) Oral History collection, the largest of its kind in the world;
- We have developed this comprehensive website which is the go-to source for teachers, students and scholars who want to learn more about the Nisei soldiers.
Your support will ensure the Nisei soldiers place in our nation's history as we continue to expand our Hanashi Oral History collection, add to our web-based curriculum, and explore new channels of outreach to youth across our nation.

The Go For Broke National Education Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
Monthly giving
We appreciate donations of any kind, but we operate most efficiently when we have a dependable flow of income throughout the year. Therefore, we ask that you consider becoming a sustaining monthly donor. Sustaining monthly donors receive special recognition in our Torch newsletter at their annual level of giving.
