THE 522: JAPANESE AMERICAN WITNESSES AT DACHAU

The 522: Japanese American Witnesses at Dachau is a 13-minute machinima (animated movie) featuring the story of the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion's unexpected encounter with Holocaust survivors from a sub-camp and death march near Dachau during the end of World War II.

The machinima features narration from the National Education Center's oral history archive, along with historical footage from the National Archives and videogame animation.

This machinima was created by Joseph Kamiya, Lauren Ino, and Craig Shimizu, who participated in Go For Broke National Education Center's internship program.

The machinima was funded by a grant from the AT&T Foundation.
