RESCUE OF THE LOST BATTALION MACHINIMA
Rescue of the Lost Battalion is a 10-minute machinima (animated movie) featuring the story of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team's rescue of the "Lost Battalion," a Texas unit that was trapped behind enemy lines during World War II.
Featuring narration from the National Education Center's oral history archive, along with historical footage from the National Archives and videogame animation, the movie vividly describes the sacrifice and perseverance of the soldiers of the Japanese American 442nd Regimental Combat Team in rescuing over 200 soldiers of the Lost Battalion.
This machinima movie was created by Reed Nakamura and Joseph Kamiya, two talented Southern California film school graduates who participated in the Go For Broke National Education Center's internship program.
