|Defense Language Institute||
Currently, the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC). Located at the Presidio in Monterey, California, the Institute has its origins in the Military Intelligence Service Language School (MISLS), which moved from Fort Snelling, Minnesota, to the Presidio in 1946. Then called the US Army Language School, it was reorganized in 1963 and renamed the Defense Language Institute (DLI). The Institute gives instruction in more than 20 languages and sends its graduates all over the world.
