GO FOR BROKE NATIONAL EDUCATION CENTER STATEMENT ON 75th ANNIVERSARY OF PEARL HARBOR ATTACK

(LOS ANGELES, CA - December 6, 2016) - Go For Broke National Education Center (GFBNEC) today joined the nation’s commemoration of the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i and the United States’ entry into World War II.

"On the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Go For Broke National Education Center joins the nation in remembering the courageous and patriotic response of all American veterans and their families during this dark chapter in world history," Mitchell Maki, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of GFBNEC, said. "American soldiers of all backgrounds made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that liberty and freedom would continue to exist.

"The loyalty and sacrifices of Japanese American soldiers during this time were especially poignant as they fought the forces of tyranny abroad and racism and prejudice at home," Dr. Maki added, noting that 120,000 Japanese Americans were incarcerated in Government concentration camps without due process during WWII. An estimated 33,000 Japanese Americans served in the military during and immediately after the war. "May we as a nation never forget the valor of our American armed services--then, now and in the future," Dr. Maki concluded.
