I want to be an outlet for other victims of hazing, because I never had anyone to talk to who actually understood what I was going through.
I found out through my journey that many people were unaware of what hazing was, including me. I had to do lots of research to figure it out and understand what I went through, which was very traumatic. I am starting a nonprofit organization by the name of SHINE, Stop Hazing In Nations Everywhere. This organization will be designed to shine the light of awareness and education on hazing. I was also honored by HazingPrevention.Org for my work to stop hazing.
Not many people before me openly talked about their hazing experiences. Because there was no path to follow I essentially had to walk alone, and because of that I went into deep depression for several months. However, once I began to see more victims speaking out I knew that I had to show courage and be strong. God put me in the position that I was in to pave the way to help other victims of hazing. Bible verses have helped me along the way.
