Engraved on the Go For Broke Monument are the names of more than 16,000 men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Search the database to locate the name of the veteran who may be listed on the Go For Broke Monument. Please keep in mind many members of the Military Intelligence Service names only have first initial and last name because the government had not released full names when the Monument was created

Go For Broke Monument Criteria

The following criteria is used to determine the individuals to be added to the Go For Broke Monument.
Individuals eligible to be added to the Go For Broke Monument:
  • 100th Infantry Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team who had completed basic training and were overseas or in transit by September 1945
  • Japanese Americans who served in the Military Intelligence Service who had completed their language school training and were assigned overseas or in the United States
  • Japanese Americans members of the Military Intelligence Service who were in language school by September 1945
  • All 1399 Engineer Construction Battalion soldiers who were in service by September 1945
  • Japanese Americans who were in other units throughout WWII who had completed basic training and were overseas or in transit by September 1945*
